Fibrillated Fibers

Fibrillated fiber is the general term for fibers that have been processed (refined) to develop fibers with a higher surface area, branched structure. This is analogous to how wood fibers are beaten to form pulp for papermaking. Fibrillated fibers can be used to make specialty papers, or where the high degree of mechanical entanglement is desired, such as in binding particles together in unique filtration media.
